Nature Walk

So excited to say this was on the Watch List for CSI!

I did this layout for the C'est Magnifique sketch using the gorgeous June kit. Here is the sketch:

I also did this for CSI Challenge #77:

My evidence: leaves, envelope, twine, pearls, wood, vintage botanical and circle tags!
My testimony: I put a story into an envelope and used the inspiration word Nature for my title. The story tells about another nature walk we took so many years ago and how much they have grown since, though we always find the walk and the treasures we find magical!!

Happy...With You - Molossi Chipboard DT

Can I say again how much I love the Molossi chipboard that arrives in my DT package each month. Suzanne and Josh do an amazing job choosing stunning chipboard just perfect for the style of layouts I love to do and I appreciate it so much!

This layout features their Decorative Arch -SMALL chipboard. It is so intricate and worked perfectly with this photo of my husband and I getting married under an arch oh so many years ago (could it be... 18 years this July, wow!!) I piled on the flowers over the arch and added some broken jewelry chain and beads and some gorgeous lace I had in my stash. The paper is from Maja Designs Spring Basics.

The beautiful butterflies are from my scrappy friend Lisa Novogrodski's Etsy shop.

The Couture Creations Jasmine Dream die is a perfect leafy flourish die, I love to cut up the stem into pieces to add leafy accents to a cluster.

I based this layout on a gorgeous sketch at Purple Pumpkin:

My layout took a life of its own, and I ended up using the flowers and lace and distress inks to echo the background of the sketch...I hope you like it!!

I also incorporated this weeks CSI challenge for this layout:

I used all the colors, for the evidence I used lace and flowers and distressed the edge of the 12x12 paper with distress ink...I used jewels aka beads, chain and cameo from a broken necklace, a wood banner and gold. For my testimony I documented our wedding and the fact that we are still laughing together after nearly 20 years knowing each other!

And exciting news I found out today that I made it
to the second round of the May Arts Design Team!!

Christmas Flashback!

Excited to say that this layout got featured at Get Creative!

I hadn't played at CSI for a few weeks, and thought I'd try to do a layout or two for their challenges. Here is my layout for Case 59:

For my evidence I used frames, flourishes and texture paste. For my testimony I used a movie title "Santa Baby" and journaled about my own little Santa baby girl! I found this photo while looking through old files this week and had to do a layout with it. My February Scraps of Elegance kit valentines papers worked well for this!!!

I also would like to enter this in the snowflake challenge at Get Creative.

Sweet Child of Mine

My gorgeous baby girl Aisling was born with hip displasia (clicky hips!). Her hip sockets were shallow and if left untreated she could have had mobility issues as she grew up, instead of being the wild little girl she is now, running around without a care. This sweet photo of her in her brace she wore for her first 4 months reminds me how grateful I am it was caught early and the problem was solved while it cause no major discomfort to her. I enjoyed doing this layout and was actually able to use a few sheets with my December Scraps of Darkness kit too...

I did this layout as part of the CSI Case 53 challenge and used this gorgeous sketch from Scrap Africa.

Here is the Case File for this week:

I used the color scheme.
Evidence: flower, metal, pleating, texture paste, scallops and fabric
Testimony: Haiku, Scallops on my journalling spot, inspiration words soft, lovely, quiet

December Snow

This layout was featured on the Manor House flowers blog and
was on the Watch List for CSI!!

Here is my layout I did for Once Upon a Sketch and CSI! I used my gorgeous December C'est Magnifique Kit and some flowers and embellies from past CM kits to make this layout. It is a photo of Aine starting a snowman during a very rare December snow back in 2010.

Here is the gorgeous OUAS sketch:

The challenge for CSI is here:

I used the colors and circles, texture paste, glitter, snowflakes, beads and puffy pain for my evidence and journalled on a tag for my testimony! I don't seem to have too much luck at CSI, but I sure enjoy doing the challenges!

Little Snow Birds

This was featured on Scrap for Help, C'est Magnifique sketch challenge,
and made the watch list on CSI!

I absolutely love the papers in the December C'est Magnifique kit, gorgeous colors, delicate beautiful designs as always from Pion Design papers... This is the layout I did using the yummy CM December sketch.

As part of the challenge for Scrap for Help (I won their November challenge, so exciting, my first time ever and amongst some gorgeous competition!) we were supposed to incorporate a paper bag into our layout! I used a paper bag to make several bitty blossoms flowers and sparkled them up with my new Donna Salazar fairy dust glitter...

I also did this layout as part of the CSI challenge for this week. I rolled up and tied my journalling with ribbon for something fun and different...

I am also entering this in the Scrap Africa challenge which you are supposed to add filmstrips.

Summer Beauty - CSI Case 43

I have been joining in with the Scraps of Elegance CSI challenge, trying to do my layouts using a good amount of Scraps of Elegance and Scraps of Darkness items on my layouts. This is my 4th and final one I am doing for the challenge but I plan to do at least one hopefully two each month from now on...they are fun!!
Here is this weeks case file:
And here is how I solved it:

For my evidence: black and white damask, a frame, a patterned brad on my ribbon, foliage, and a rub on.
For my testimony: I did a formal letter talking about how much Aisling had changed since that photo was taken in Cornwall the summer before last.

I am also going to enter this in the Bird is the Word challenge for "Summer" and in the Scrap for Help challenge to use music paper, which is layered behind my photo.
