Christmas in July with La-La Land Crafts

This week at La-La Land Crafts the theme it is Christmas in July!I decided to use an image with non typical Christmas colors for my July card!!

I used wintry dies for this card! I started by stitching around both the image and the base layer, then added my flowers tucking in the beautiful Holly Flourish Die.

Next I added lots of snowflakes!!! I used the Ornate Snowflakes Die and tucked them in around the card. I then took the Snowflake Banner Die and placed it over my flower cluster, adding some fun twine bows. I took a snowflake form the banner die, cut it off and used it as an individual snowflake on the image...

There's a Rose in Love's Garden for You

I just love using gorgeous Riddersholm Huntington Gardens papers and tags! I just love all the tag cut out sheets that are included with the collections.

Here I was able to use some tags as part of the title, as part of my terrarium embellie background and I fussy cut one of the butterflies to use on its own. So versatile and they really add a lot of depth and dimension to a layout!

I used a lot of different media for my background, including my favorite Sandy Stone Shimmerz Texturez which I used a mask with for a gorgeous pattern around the layout. I then added some gesso and various ink splatters!

The little cutie is my eldest daughter looking a bit like a pixie out in our garden long long ago! I tucked in gorgeous Prima flowers and wood embellies and had fun with twine twisting around the layout. I finished it off with stitching along the edges.

Anything Goes at La-La Land Crafts!

This week at La-La Land Crafts the theme is Anything Goes!I had this cute image of the girl cut out and waiting to be used, so I decided to base my card around it.

I placed the fussy cut focal image onto my card, adding a Stitched Nested Circles die behind it for a nice mat. I added some gorgeous pink and green Prima and Petaloo flowers from my stash that tied in with the image colors, tucking in the gorgeous Berry Flourish die amongst the flowers.

To add some nice layers I placed the Folding Banner Dies over the flowers and added the Love word from the Hanging Hearts and Love Word dies. I added one of the hanging hearts as well in the top corner of the card.  To finish off the card I added the Fancy Butterfly Die and added some stitching around the card. I hope you like my whimsical card this week!

Make a Wonderful Life Layout for La-La Land Crafts

This week at La-La Land Crafts the theme is Photo Inspiration! This is the image we used for our inspiration:

I love the beach photo, so of course I had to use a beach photo of my own! I started the layout with my image of my daughter a few years back on an Oregon beach! I tucked in some corrugated cardboard which I aged by adding some gesso to it and also added some wavy edged layers using the Double Stitched Hills Border Dies

I started adding flowers to my layout, using a huge green flower with a jeweled centre and feathers as my focal cluster. I added a shell to this and then a Birds DieI then added the Beach Umbrella Die to keep building on the theme!

I added some fun Prima Wire Thread to frame the photo and tucked in another bird and the Picket Fence Die .

I added lots of flowers, rubons and shells to my layout and finished off my dies using the Feathers Die. I had a lot of fun creating this and hope you like it!

Be Happy Layout for Riddersholm Designs

This week I am using the gorgeous Tailgate Marked collection to make a beachy layout with a subtle red white and blue theme in honor of the country of my birth!! I live in Ireland but I grew up in the United States!

I just love using shells on my beachy layouts, so I have added many here. I have also used some cut out tags and the "Be Happy" title from the Huntington Gardens collection... To add some depth and layers to my layout I added some stripy ribbon and some white ribbon mesh.

For my background work I added some misting, splashes and some masking using gorgeous Gritty Graphite Shimmerz Texturez. I tucked in some Prima and Petaloo flowers to add some color to my layout.

Here you can see some of the clustering and background work I did. Finally, I added some twine across the layout for a finishing detail.  I really hope you like my summery layout!!!

Hello My Friend Card for La-La Land Crafts

This week at La-La Land Crafts the theme is Washi or Twine!! I decided to use twine for my card!

I recently got the gorgeous Dress Form Die and I just had to make a card with a sewing theme to use it! I found this great vintage image of a woman sewing to base my card around. I tucked a bit of lace under the photo and then added a flower cluster using a gorgeous Petaloo flower and the rolled roses using the Rolled Rose Large Die and Rolled Rose Small Medium Die. I tucked in the Open Leaf Flourish die leaves. I also tucked in some twine loops to finish off the cluster.

I added the Filigree Corner Die in the corner of course and finished off the card with the "hello, my friend" sentiment using the Folding Banners Die set of 2. I tucked in a stick pin and finally sewed around the edges of card to finish it off.

Berry71bleu July Challenge: "To Die For"

As you know, I am part of the Berry71bleu DT. It is my turn this month to host the challenge and
this month we are sponsored by the AMAZING company

They produce gorgeous papers, stamps and dies and our challenge this month is inspired by them, the

You can create layouts, cards, art journals, tags or even altered projects, as long as they contain dies. Now since everyone might not have a die cutting machine, purchased die cuts are great to use too...I seem to always have some of these in my stash and I bet you probably have some too!!

Here is my layout I did this month for the die cut challenge. The beautiful paper collection I used is the Arianna Blooms papers. The dies are the gorgeous flourishes and bleeding hearts that were both stamped and die cut using gorgeous Heartfelt Creations products

Here is a close up of the beautiful bleeding heart stamps from the Romantique Garden collection. The stamps are part of the Heartthrob Cling Stamp SetI stamped them on some of the Arianna Blooms paper and inked them using Tim Holtz Victorian Velvet Distress Ink to make the darker sections of the bleeding heart.

The  Romantique Garden die set that I used cut out the beautiful bleeding heart stamps perfectly and also included the gorgeous flourish stems I used.  I used some tag cut outs and a title from the Arianna Blooms papers and fussy cut some butterflies. I also added some Shimmerz Texturez masked in the background using a Prima wall mask and splattered some green ink as well, finally adding some twine for an extra fun detail!
