Surely The Stars

Hi, Cathi here with a layout for Mixed Media Monday! I just recently bought the great Art Textures Cling Stamp Set and have had a great time here trying out my new Tropical Gelatos using the bubble wrap and coffee stain textures on my background! I also used the gorgeous Prima doily mask that was included in the November Nesting Component Kit. I stamped and colored the background with the gelatos, I think I will be using these more often!! I love the soft subtle texture the stamping gives you with the gelatos.

Here you can see more of the gelato coloring and doily masking as well as the gorgeous text stamp from the Text Melange Cling Stamp Set. I have also used the gorgeous Blue Fern Twiggy Branch chipboard in its natural raw state. I have added a gorgeous Prima nest, bird and flowers from my stash! 

For the title of my layout I used the sweet quote from the Stars Cling Stamp Set, adding a few bark stars to my embellishment cluster to add a little extra detail...there are also stars in the background paper.

I have used the gorgeous Prima BAP sketch for this layout.


I also used the colors on the inspiration board at Scrap Around the World.

You Are Such A Blessing to Me: A Layout for Creative Expressions

For my final project using the Henna stamps by Creative Expressions I created a layout. I just love how it turned out!!

For the base of my page I used the gorgeous Heartfelt Creations Antiquities papers. I chose to use the Henna Mandala stamp for this layout and stamped and embossed many times in Creative Expressions Fine Detail White Embossing Powder. I really love the clean sharp stamped image you get with this.

I used many pieces from the Antiquities papers here as layers and some gorgeous Key Charms and Zipper Flowers. I cut out some of my stamped images and used them on the layout as flowers.

Here you can see another stamped flower, the die cut butterfly from the Couture Creations Butterfly Notes 3 in 1 Set, a Gold Satin Ribbon Rose and hidden in there some die cut leaves from Spellbinders Foliage set. I added some pearls to the butterfly for a final touch.

  

Christmas Mini Album for Couture Creations

Here are the pages of my Christmas mini album made to sit inside the fun box that I decorated last week.

I have taken several photos of the pages before I added photos here
so you can see the embossing before I cover a lot of it with photos!!

I used several nesting die sets for the photo mats: Fleur-de-Frame, Square Nesting Dies, Scallop Square Nesting Dies, Victorian Squares Nesting Die, Oval Nesting Dies and Scallop Oval Nesting Dies. I also chose several decorative die cuts to enhance the album: the Fantasia Doily Die: Ivy Set, the Endless Dreams: Aladdin's Key Die, Sophia: Dolce and Sophia: Oscar dies.

For the embossing, I used the Wrapped in Joy: Champagne and Holly embossing folder and Wrapped in Joy: Poinsettia Lullaby embossing folder for almost all of my photo mats!

Grateful Giveaway

I am so grateful this year for all the amazing things that have happened to me.  

I wrote down two goals at the beginning of the year. I hoped to:

1. Make a manufacturer DT and a challenge blog

I have been so lucky to have designed for several manufacturers and stores: Couture Creations, Molossi chipboard, Paper Wings Productions, Paper Temptress, Visible Image, Frosted Designs, Creative Expressions and Tresors de Luxe, so much more beyond my wildest imaginations!!

CropStop store and May Arts!!

I am also on the Berry71Bleu, Scrap Africa and Sugar Creek Hollow challenge teams, yes I have been keeping busy, and will need to balance back my commitments as some of my terms end so I can scrap for fun a bit more often!!!

I really can't believe how lucky I have been to have been chosen for these teams and guest spots.

I work hard for every team I am on and enjoy the creative projects I get to do!!

2. Hope to get over 100 Subscribers

Now here I have gone way past my expectations as well!!! I am standing here this Christmas with 270 subscribers!!! I am so grateful and so excited!!! But I am also wondering if you can help me surpass my goal for 2014 of getting to 300 subscribers, maybe even before the year has started!

December Traditions

My final project for 2013 with Frosted Designs. 2014 brings some exciting developments, so I hope you come back to see more of my work for Frosted Designs in the future!!!  I decided to use more of my gorgeous Prima Holiday Jubilee collection, seeing as it is Christmas Eve!

Here you can see where I've used the gorgeous Prima and Petaloo flowers in the shop! I used the Crafter's Workshop Brick mask with Walnut Stain Distress Ink and stamped with Tropical Gelato in "Snow Cone".

I have lots of layers of the Holiday Jubilee Papers and used some of the Wood Stickers from the collection. I added some pine cones and burlap ribbon from my stash as well, as well as a lovely chipboard stocking from Molossi.

I used gesso to distress and age some of the papers and for a cool effect around my photo. Here you can see the Harlequin Background and Bronte Border stamps from Visible Image Stamps as well. I added some twine from my stash here to focus on my daughter Aine!

I used the gorgeous sketch from Once Upon a Sketch December Challenge to make my layout and journalled about our favorite holiday traditions that make December a favorite month for me. Thank you so much for stopping by!
