Back to School with La-La Land Crafts

This week at La-La Land Crafts the theme is Back to School!!  I had a lot of fun putting this together using the play on words with the Back to School Luka sentiment, "You Rule!". I had this perfect ruler paper and wooden ruler to help with the theme!

I started the card with the tan ruler paper background, adding the Koi Circle Die cut out of white card stock. I added a Prima flower and then two gorgeous La-La Land Rolled Roses using the Rolled Roses Large and Rolled Roses Medium and Small dies.

Using the Folding Banners Die I added the the Back to School Luka sentiment onto it, then tucking the wooden ruler in with the flowers.  I tucked some leaves from the Open Leaf Flourish Die. Finally I added the Fancy Butterfly as a finishing touch to the card.

Dreams are for Chasing!

Hi! Cathi here and I'd love to share my take on Tanya's Yellow Mood Board Challenge. I used some gorgeous 7 Dots Studios papers and stickers for this layouts as well as the stunning Blue Ferns Studio Fancy Signage chipboard.

Here you can see the detail on the Blue Ferns Chipboard. I inked the piece with Crushed Olive Distress Ink and Black Soot Distress Ink around the edges. I used the Visible Image Bronte Border for the script stamp details and fussy cut a photo of my daughter doing what she loves best, dancing en pointe!! I just love the Prima resin pointe shoes, they are just perfect for this!

I love the cutout title Dreams are For Chasing, part of the 7 Dots Studio Verano Azul collection. The background paper is from the Christmas Yuletide collection! I tucked in a few rub on images from Tim Holtz on the layout, added some black ink splatters, some masking and some stamping to the background.

I have my daughter dancing around the gorgeous Blue Ferns Studios chipboard column. I have added some Petaloo flowers around the layout including one for her little tutu!! The stickers are from yet another new collection from 7 Dots Studios, Lost and Found...all inspirations for my daughter who has decided to hang this one up in her room!

Flag/Banner Card for La-La Land Crafts

This week at La-La Land Crafts the theme it is Flags/Banner!! I just had to use a gorgeous vintage baby image for this card and use the new Baby Clothesline Banner die.

I took a gorgeous piece of Kaisercraft yellow cardstock for my base and stitched in pink around the edges. I then printed out the sweet image and cut it out using the oval die from the Stitched Elements set. I tucked the Lattice Corner Die under the oval image and then I layered the gorgeous Baby Clothesline Banner in two places over the image.

To make the flower cluster for the card I added a gorgeous Prima flower from my colection as well as rolled roses using the gorgeous Rolled Rose Large Die  and Rolled Rose Small & Medium dies.
To finish off my card I added the flag die from the Stitched Elements set, using some Tim Holtz rub ons for the sentiment. Finally, I tucked in a few leaves from the Pretty Poinsettia die. I had fun creating this sweet little card!

Life is What You Make It

This week I'd love to share a layout I did of my eldest girl, my dancer. She is only 12 but she seems grown up in this photo! I have used the gorgeous Vintage Venture In Time paper as my base as well as some gorgeous cut outs!

Here you can see the gorgeous Wycinaka Scroll chipboards I used to add a delicate touch to my photo cluster. I just love the beautiful new Riddersholm Design netting so I just had to add some to my layout! The great stamp sentiment "Life is What You Make It" is by Visible Image.

I used the gorgeous Wycinaka bird cage chipboard as part of this layout, so intricate! I added Riddersholm Design Glitter Glass in Blue to the chipboard bird, I love the big chunky texture it has!

Some of the great cut out tags have been trapped in my netting. I used some gorgeous blue and brown mists to make a background for the layout, adding lots of brown splashes. I added in some script stamping for some extra design.

I hope you like my layout, thank you so much for visiting!!

La-La Land Crafts August 2015 Release!

There is no doubt about it, La-La Land Crafts make the most amazing dies. They cut like a dream and have so many amazing designs!! Just check out their new die release (and their gorgeous new MARCI, LUKA, and MOLLI stamps if you are a colorer!!!)

I did a card and two layouts for this release. I will start with my rather clean and simple card featuring the new Koi Circle Die

I matted the vintage fishing image on the Koi Circle die using the Stitched Nested Circle Die to cut a perfect circle. I used the Stitched Elements flag die for the sentiments and added some of the new Seaweed Die cutouts to go along with the theme. For fun I added some twine to make it seem like the fisherman's pole had caught the fish!

For my next project I did a layout featuring several of the new dies. The dies seemed to fit a formal elegant theme, so I chose to use a vintage wedding photo. In the corners of my layout I used the Scroll Corner Die  for a bit of elegance to frame the main image.

Here you can see where I used the Scroll Bracket Die as an elegant matte under my image, which I had cut out using the Stitched Elements oval die. You can also get a close up of the gorgeous Prima flowers I used and the mask and texture paste I used in the background.

As part of my flower cluster I used the Lanterns Die. I matted some black card underneath the lantern cut outs for added sumptuousness!

Finally, I used the Lanterns Banner Die as part of my title accent to add a little more elegance.

I had a lot of fun with my next layout! I had this great photo of my daughter Aisling from last summer and since some of the new release dies had a mermaid/under the sea kind of theme to them, I decided she could be my little mermaid for this layout!!

I piled the layout out with flowers and shells and here you can see the Seaweed Die cut outs mixed in with the flower cluster.

The cute seahorse star and sea fern diecut pieces are all part of great little set, the Under the Sea die set!. They made perfect accents for this layout!

In this photo you can see a hint of the Seaweed Border Die that I have matted under the photo for some extra sea themed texture!

I think you'll agree there are some great new dies in this new release! If you are interested in purchasing them you can buy them in the store HERE!! Pop on over and get yours soon!!

Lovely

This week at La-La Land Crafts we needed to use a sketch. Here is the sketch we used:

I turned the sketch upside down to do my layout, adding two layers under my photo and adding lace as the horizontal elements across the page.

I chose a gorgeous ballet photo for my focal image, cutting it out with the Oval die from the Stitched Elements Set. The Bird Cage Die corresponds to the circle element on the sketch.

I added the Heart Scroll Corners to a flower cluster. I just love using it as a leafy flourish.

As a final touch on my layout I added some more flowers and then the Feathers die.
