Italian Journey - Thursday DT Post for Visible Image

This week I wanted to share a layout featuring Visible Image's new and hugely popular Ripped Fishnet stamp!! I knew when I saw this stamp I wanted to do a layout featuring beach or sea theme! It makes the perfect netting background. I used my Vintage Photo Distress Embossing Powder for a great rough texture for the netting!

I also had this great Molossi Dove chipboard piece (used here for me as a sea gull!!) that worked perfectly with the bird stamp from the Free Your Imagination Stamp Set! I inked the birds in Walnut Stain and Peacock Feathers Distress Inks and had them flying across the page from one corner to the other!

And because it is just a beautiful brilliant background stamp (say that 5 times fast!) I inked up the Bronte Border again for this layout to add some beautiful detail! It really is a great script stamp to have in your arsenal! I also misted and gessoed another Molossi piece, Flower Swirl #1.

I added some corregated board, a piece of lace I dyed to match the layout, some shells I stole from my girls stash (better buy some before I steal them all!!) and a tag for journaling. I wrote here about all we learned about on our Italian journey, how to enjoy the slow pace and not try to see every cultural monument on our checklist...our children taught us we needed balance in our schedule, time for just having fun while we were there too!!

I hope you like my project, and if any of these stamps catch your eye, please visit the store by clicking on the links or images! All UK and international shipping is FREE for the entire month of October!

Visible Image also run a challenge each month on their blog.
This month the theme is:
Use a Visible Image Sentiment stamp on a project and link it up, easy peasy,
and you could win £20 of your choice of Visible Image gorgeousness!
Join us over at our fan page on Facebook or join our GROUP!
This month if you load a Visible Image project you've created in the group,
you also have a chance at another £20 prize, you have to be in it to win it though,
so I hope you have a look at the site and get some stamps and join in.

I would love to enter this in the Once Upon a Sketch challenge for this month using this gorgeous sketch:

I'd also love to enter this in the Color Room Challenge!
(I just have a little green on the paper, but the rest of the colors are more dominant!!)

Cathi those stamps are just beautiful and it looks so good behind your photos. The birds swirling across the page create magic movement. The texture on your background page is wonderful and I love the chipboard with the corrugated card. A truly beautiful layout. You have such lovely handwriting and I think you got great advice from your kids on balance on holiday. This is a beautiful layout. Thanks for playing along with us this month at OUAS :D
