Man oh Man challenge for Visible Image

Last week was my final week at Visible Image, they are focusing on image stamps for coloring right now and it was time for me to go.  I will continue to support them and cheer them on and they continue to grow and grow. It has been nothing but a positive experience to work with such an amazing creative couple like Helen and Mark, and also the wonderful and talented (and slightly crazy!) teammates I had on the design team! They are so creative and talented, I can't wait to see the new projects they dream up for all the new stamps to be released.

But I had made this card earlier last month for their challenge so I thought I'd share it here. I just love the distinguished gentleman image I found and I made a stamped background for him using the Grunge Harlequin stamp. I stamped in Brushed Corduroy Distress Ink, also using that to make a light background color with my blending tool. I used the gear and clock stamps from the Time After Time set in Jet Black Archival Ink and stamped them randomly around the page.

To finish off the card I edged everything in Black Soot Distress Ink and added some fun paper cord as a frame. I love how my grungy masculine card turned out...perfect for Father's Day.

Check out the challenge HERE for your chance to win a £20 voucher to their amazing store!

Happy: A Layout for Visible Image Stamps

SO EXCITED THIS WON THE LINDY'S STAMP GANG CHALLENGE!!

This week I went for mixed media madness with my Visible Image stamps!! Lots of different stamps sets featured including fun background stamps Grunge Polka Dot and Grunge Check Background!! I was able to use leftovers from my gorgeous May Simply Sweet Kit from Frosted Designs as well as some from earlier kits, gotta love kits that keep on giving!!

In this close up here you can see the zig zag stitch stamp and Dress Up stamp from the Sewing Room set. The Enjoy stamp was taken from the Time after Time set and the Life is Grand stamp is from the Chandelier set. I had a great time pulling fun sentiments to match to celebration theme for this layout. All the sentiments and stitch stamp were stamped in Jet Black Archival Ink.

I have lots and lots of layers going on here and the background is full of color. I used Tumbled Glass Distress Ink for my Grunge Polka Dot stamping and Victorian Velvet Distress Ink for my Grunge Check stamping. I used lots of Lindy's Stamp Gang sprays in Wake Me Up Before You Go Gold, Pretty in Pink Pink and Tiffany Lou Blue. The chipboard numbers are from Molossi and inked in Black Soot Distress Ink. I had a lot of fun stamping misting and layering up this layout and I really hope you like it!!

Don't forget to join in our challenge this month, the theme is "Anything Goes".

I decided to play along with the Scrap Around the World challenge for this one. Here is the gorgeous moodboard we use for inspiration!

I used the colors from the moodboard, the celebration theme, the gold glitter dipped flowers to echo the balloons, even the twine on the presents! I had a great time working on this one!!

Be Unique Card for Visible Image Stamps

Back again this Thursday with a new project for Visible Image Stamps!! Today I used the The Sewing Room set to make this vintage card.

To start off I stamped the measuring tape stamp in Victorian Velvet Distress Ink and stacked it randomly up and down my card. I inked the background color in both Victorian Velvet and Walnut Stain Distress Inks.  I found the vintage image via a Google Image search and just love its subtle coloring with the pinks and browns so I kept the card in the same color scheme. I added some zig zag stitching in pink around the edge of the card.

I distressed the edge of my image sewing around the border as well...I stamped the "Be Unique" stamp onto the image itself. I then stamped the button and spools stamps using the same Walnut Stain Distress Ink I had used for the sentiment. I cut around these and arranged them in clusters around the image. I finished off my card with some gorgeous flowers and twine.  I am loving how it turned out and hope you do too!

Beautiful Inside and Out for Visible Image

This week I wanted to a layout featuring some Visible Image stamps I haven't used in a while!! I used the Once Upon a Time stamp, the Crackled Background stamp and the Brick Wall stamp.

I wanted to give a fairy tale feel to this layout, like my daughter was standing in front of the gates of the castle surrounded by flowers from the garden. I love the way the castle looks like it is high on a hill in the distance behind the gate. I used the crackled texture to add an aged background to the look.

I added lots of gorgeous Prima blooms around the gate, adding a hint of the brick wall the gate is attached to. Using the sumptous diamante trim as a garden path I finished off the layout with a chipboard title and did some distressing and punch ing around the edges.  I had a great time creating this scene and hope you like it!

Live the Life You Imagine: Layout for Visible Image

This week at Visible Image we were challenged by a fellow teammate who chose colors and Visible Image stamps for us to use. Claire England chose for me, and since I am not know for darker colors with my layouts, she challenged me to try red and black and use the Grunge Flourish and Bronte Script stamps. I rose to the challenge and here is my layout in red and black!

For the Grunge Flourish, I embossed them using Black Soot Distress Embossing Powder for a cool gritty grungy look. I used the Bronte Script to layer under and around my photo carry the movement diagonally across my page. For my photo I chose a photo I had printed with a black filter on it as it fit the grunge look. It also happened to be a photo of my girls searching for shells on a beach so of course I had to add those to the layout. The flowers are gorgeous Manor House Creations and I added the Molossi banner chipboard across the top of the page. The string I used helped keep the flow moving across the page.

For my finishing touch I used the Live the Life stamp for my layout title. Very different colors for me but I really like how it turned out!!

I just love using the Visible Image stamps on my layouts and was able to use four gorgeous stamps for this layout!!

Here you can see the beautiful Small Butterfly stamp which I have stamped in Jet Black Archival Ink and fussy cut out. I did three of them to add dimension to my layout.  I also used the Retro Dots Background stamp with some of my acrylic paint to add texture and dimension under my photo. I love to use gesso or paint on some of the texture stamp for that added dimensionality and different look they give. The paint is more opaque and the texture stands out from the page.

Here you can see the subtle stamping I did on the wooden banner piece on the layout, my favorite script stamp, Bronte Script. I also used the gorgeous Cobblestone Fence chipboard from Molossi, painted in cream acrylic paint to tone in with the background paper colors. My final stamp is my title: Live Your Dreams. This photo is one I took of Aine during a trip to Tuscany last summer. I hope she does get to live out her dreams!

I hope you come play along with us this month at Visible Image
look forward to seeing your projects!!

With Sympathy for Visible Image

My dear brother in law passed away last Friday and we are all bereft. Too soon, too young. Such a brave fighter gone in a flash. I just had to make something this week as crafting takes me outside myself and helps me. Kind of my therapy. I think I will keep this tag for myself, just needed to make something to clear my head.

I've used the With Sympathy set, Small Butterfly, Harlequin Background and Tall Grass for this and added some fibres and beads as well as some flower.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Follow Your Dreams: A Layout for Visible Image

This week I wanted to do a layout of the Visible Image Owner's other daughter, Bethan! She loves purple and had a purple top and lacy scarf in her gorgeous photo, so I used those colors as the basis of my layout.

The photo is against the backdrop of a stone/brick wall so I thought the Brick Wall stamp would be perfect for the layout background.  The gorgeous Prima Princess paper has a beautiful princess (who reminded me of Bethan with her blonde hair!) and this princess is surrounded by butterflies, so of course I had to make some gorgeous 3D butterflies with the Small Butterfly stamp!!  I added tons of gorgeous ManorHouse Creations flowers and a Prima nest. For a final touch I added some Molossi Bricks and Banner, adding the sentiment "Follow your Dreams" from the Believe set.

I hope Bethan and her family like the layout, I had a great time creating it!! Thanks so much for stopping by!
