Book Worm: Just for Fun!

Tomorrow is our last day in Ireland for six weeks! We head off to my parent's house Wednesday in Oregon and we are getting very excited. I got as much work done ahead of time for my DT commitments and actually had time to play today!!!

I am entering this layout in a few challenges, the first of which is the Inkido June Challenge! I have used two Inkido papers for this layout: Inkido Spring Time Vintage Lace and Inkido Spring Time Vintage Postcard. I chose a photo of my gorgeous daughter Aisling reading a book and used the Vintage Postcard papers rolled up and tied together to emulate a set of books which I tied together with a bit of twine.  The theme for this month's challenge is:
Aisling is a voracious reader and is constantly either drawing or reading, she just loves it!!

I used tons of my Prima stash for this layout, many many Lindy's mists, and some gorgeous Dusty Attic chipboard. I took some French book pages and added these to the layout as well as some lace from my stash.

Lots of molding paste, masking misting and stamping and a touch of gesso, lots of mixed media touches. I finished off the layout by stitching in green around the border.

I would love to add this to the Dusty Attic June Challenge. I used their gorgeous sketch to make this layout, and used their lantern and fishnet panel chippies as part of the layout.

Time for me to start packing up some of the supplies I plan to bring on my trip to the States, can't go six weeks without crafting (my DTs wouldn't be too happy about that either!!) So happy I got a chance to just play today, that doesn't happen so often these days and I love it when I can!!

Love Never Ages

This photo is of my great grandparents, gone long before I was born, but isn't it a great photo, they both look like such fun characters and still in love after all their years together! I journalled a bit about who they are in the tag behind the photo.

I stamped with my Timmy chicken wire stamp and part of the title, using some transparency film from a report cover. The papers are all Pion as well as the fussy cut butterflies. I used a gorgeous Prima vine, a Dusty Attic chipboard lamp that I embossed with Midnight Obsidian Pewter Lindy's embossing powder, and finally some Zva Creative bling. I had a great time doing the paper ruffles having recently been inspired by some of Gabbie Pollacco's layouts like this one here.

I would like to enter this in the OUAS sketch challenge, it was based on this gorgeous sketch:
I was looking back on my blog and I haven now been playing at OUAS every month for a year now. I love Nadia's sketches and think I have learned and grown from all the DT's inspirational layouts and fellow challenge players, such amazing work shown there each month!

I am also entering this in the Pion Valentine challenge and the Inkido black and white challenge, I have done several entries there, 3 actually, since they said you can and I do lots of black and white photos!!

Sweet Girl

I am finally pulling out of a week's dose of flu and sinusitis, ouch!! So I finally felt well enough to scrap again and wanted to try the Prima BAP sketch for January. I used a sweet photo of my youngest Aisling, a Prima mask and some molding paste, fussy cut birds and flowers and lots of Prima bling, wood embellies and a bit of washi tape snuck in there. This is my first time using Rondelle, such beautiful paper!!!

Here is the sketch it was based on:

I would love to enter this as a second entry for the Inkido black and white photo challenge as well!

Prima Ballerina

I really enjoyed doing this layout, it is a great photo of my eldest daughter in her ballerina gear a few years back...She is very serious about ballet now and her teacher thinks she could go further, so she is starting to follow a dream of hers to be a professional ballerina! Now, I know it is a hugely competitive thing, and she is young. I have no need for her to be a prima ballerina, I won't be a pushy momma, lol, but if she loves ballet and this is a dream she wants to follow, we will support her! I think she is a graceful dancer but I might be al little biased!! I hope she achieve whatever dream she decides to follow in life!!

I made this layout as part of the Scraps of Darkness Round Robin, basing it off of this layout by Michelle Mc!  I used the Prima Almanac paper from an SOD kit, and Fairy Belle paper from the SOE kit. The door was from a kit as well as the bling and some of the flowers.

This layout is also done for the Prima PPP challenge and the Inkido black and white photo challenge (the butterflies are cut from an Inkido paper in my stash!), and I used twine for the Scrap for Help challenge.
