You All Make My Day!

Some of the border I finished quilting...

32 comments last week, you are all wonderful with your support and encouragement and prayers for mom and our family. She is still getting all the information gathered... Her MRI says that there is no cancer in any other part of her body, but that their might be one lymph node involved with the cancer, so they are looking into that before a definite course of action is decided. We are all getting used to the idea, and it looks like our trip to Australia might be cancelled so that grandma can get some grandkid therapy this summer. So...my plans for bringing my Dear Jane to Sisters this year, could be back on...we'll see in the next month or two before we make solid plans!

I have finished quilting one of the triangle borders this week, well all the pieced triangles anyway...I am starting to work on the plain tris with a simple quilting pattern. I figured anything complicated would be totally lost on this design intense quilt. What do you think?
Quilting on the Plain Dear Jane Triangles

I managed to swim 35 lengths or more 3 times this week, and got one walk in. I started Weight Watchers on Wednesday, very depressing amount on that scale, but hope to see it go down soon. Will try to organize a WW page here on the blog soon, along with catching up on my Finished projects, Book list...geesh I have a lot to do!

I finished Dave's slippers and felted them...they are a bit misshapen, but they fit him just fine. I knitted it double stranded so the slippers are more like fraternal twins rather than identical with their patterning...one is more striped and the other more mottled...eek!!

make-my-day.jpg Ruth tagged me with a lovely award, the You Make My Day award. I have to say, it does make my day to receive these kinds of awards that go around blogland. I love to know that people out there enjoy reading my blog!! I've seen this award go around many of the blogs I read several times over, but there are a few out there that I enjoy reading that haven't received it yet, so I'll focus on those ones, but with 178 feeds on my Bloglines, I enjoy many many blogs out there and appreciate every comment that I get. Thank you so much everyone for being such a wonderfully supportive community!

Here are a few favorites of mine, hope you take the award and pass it around to other blog friends that make your day!

That is so pretty, your DJ quilt. Every time I see it, I want to make one so bad! I started one a long time ago, and only managed 4 blocks. Hmmm, maybe I should give it a try again? I like the scrappy one you are doing. I am so sorry about your mom, I will keep her in my prayers. I am thinking of being in Bend for the Sisters quilt show, so if you are there and need some bloggy sister moral support, please by all means let me know!

Thinking you mom and all of you during this difficult time. I hope her healing will be a positive and successful process. And best wishes to you as your journey along with Weight Watchers! Your quilting looks great--best with simple quilting, I think too. Dave's slippers are fun. What have you used for the soles? May this week be a better one for you all ((HUGS))

Glad your Mom is hanging in there (and that you are as well). It's a long road, but you will come through it. Love the DJ quilting -- I think you're right that simple may be best. Those slippers look so warm and cozy!

great slippers-wish I were as talented to gift something like that to my husband--the closest I offer my DH is the correctly match pair of clean socks!!
Happy thoughts for mom--may the best path be uncovered, showing your quilt at the Sisters is not a bad second, eh?

Cathi! Oh, an award for me. I am so touched, and I will be even more inspired to keep up the blog. you are instrumental!!
thanks you are too kind!

Your Mum is in my thoughts and I hope that everything will turn out the best.
You have been very busy with your quilting and I think you are right: simple quilting will look the best.
Felting is still something for me to try but you do inspire me. Congrats on the award and take care.

Wow! I hadn't checked on you in a few weeks! I hope your mom is doing okay. My mom had a lumpectomy and radiation 12 years ago and has been fine until her mamogram just before Christmas - when the discovered a larger lump in the other breast. She's still weighing her options for surgery but they are suggesting a masectomy this time. I haven't posted about it on my blog - I'm having trouble putting it all into words. I'll keep you mom in my thoughts and prayers. Please do keep me posted.
Hugs!

Hi Cathi!
I'm thinking of you and your mother at this time.
I can see that you are keeping yourself occupied. I think the quilting pattern on the plain triangles are fine, it suits the quilt very well.
I just love those felted slippers you've done.

Just wanted to say that my mom is a several-year survivor of breast and uterine cancers. Both were caught early (as it seems your mom's were) and she tolerated the treatment very well. I know it's nerve wracking for the family and something else to add to your own medical history, but it can be got through in good shape. All the best to you, your mom, and your family.

I have loved watching your dear jane come to fruition. Just lovely in every way! and I am sorry you can't be with your family, the phone is great but not for hugs, right? I hope everyting medical will be put to right.

What a great surprise to see the photo on the box. It's a photo I made from my 'dronkeman's' quilt. It's one of the quilts I love most.
I wish you a lot of fun making it.

Hi, Thanks for the nomination - that's really kind. I do miss your blog, my blog and the sisterhood of blogs lol. Having a sunny time, but missing my stash too lol. Hoping to send you a parcel, BUT just so disorganised at the mo (too much sun) so it may be a while.... I see you've had snow - wow! The girls are gorgeous as ever, and so is your DJ.
