Dancer - GDT for Berry71Bleu for November!

I am so excited to be joining Berry71Bleu in January on their full DT, but this month I've had the wonderful opportunity to be a guest designer and work with one of Marivic's gorgeous vintage tags as well!

The tag I received has a beautiful fairy ballerina and a bottlecap that says dance on it, so I just knew I had to do a layout of Aine and her love of ballet. I found a photo of Aine during her first months of ballet in 2007 and funny enough with arms outstretched just like her one from ballet camp this summer, I just had to use it. I fussy cut around her younger photo and placed it into the layout! This month's challenge theme is Change is Beautiful and I think Aine's changes as she grows into a graceful ballerina fit the theme perfectly!!

I chose the colors of my layout from the gorgeous tag. The blues, greens and pinks perfectly suited the 9th Wave papers, die cuts, and stickers I had from 7 Dots as well. I used some gorgeous Molossi chipboard, cutting a heart in half and using it on both sides of the layout cluster. I colored it with pink chalk ink to tone in with the tag colors and then used a Prima stamp and added some gesso. I also added some chicken wire chipboard and colored that in with the teal chalk ink...

I added some Molossi paper flowers and some gorgeous Petaloo flowers I had in my stash, added a bit of stamping and splatters and a tiny bit of modelling paste on my background.

I hope you like my inspiration for Berry71Bleu's November challenge using the gorgeous mood board:

I hope you are inspired to play along, just look at this months prizes!!!

Dream Layout for Creative Expressions

This week I am sharing a layout featuring the gorgeous Winter Flower stamp plate and Heartfelt Creations Antiquities paper pad! I love the way the layout turned out and have used many yummy products from Creative Expressions!!

The layout has many many layers of gorgeous designs cut from the Antiquities papers. I love how they provide titles, journal cards, 6x6 and 12x12 papers all within the same paper pad. I layered many of the journal cards, using one as a frame for my photo of Aisling! Aisling means dream in Irish and my girl is a bit of a daydreamer so I thought it was a perfect title for the layout.

The stamp I chose from the Winter Flower plate this week is this gorgeous hellebore. Using scraps from the paper pad, I stamped it twice in Sepia Archival Ink and painted in with Cosmic Shimmer Antique Rose Vintage Mist and Forest Moss Drawing Ink. I fussy cut these out and place them on the layout around my frame.

I used some gorgeous May Arts Cream Crochet Lace cut it in half and misted it with the Antique Rose Vintage Mist.  I cut some gorgeous butterflies from the Couture Creations Ornate Frame 3 in 1 Set and used the script stamp from the same collection for the background. The butterflies were cut using some of the paper pad scraps again and because I am addicted to the Enchanted Gold Gilding Wax, they are coated with that for a lovely shimmer. I used Perfect Medium and Copper Mica Powder to do my background script stamping, very subtle but a lovely detail.

Seasons Greetings Layout for Visible Image

I wanted to feature this great Christmas Eve stamp that I got and I thought this photo of the girls from Christmas last year was perfect to go with it! I used my Seasons Greetings sentiment stamp for my title in Walnut Stain Distress Ink. I also added the Brick Wall stamp to the background as brick fireplaces always remind me of Christmas, usually with stockings hanging off them!

I added some gorgeous Prima and BoBunny flowers from my stash and a gorgeous Molossi chipboard chandelier which I embossed in Black and used Cosmic Shimmer Gilding Wax.

I added some Molossi chipboard flourishes to my flower clusters as a finishing touch. The papers used are Prima Holiday Jubilee.

I really love how this turned out and I hope you enjoyed looking! If you like any of the stamps, simply click on the link or image to head to the shop.

Joy In Life

 Welcome to the

In order to get here, you must have come via Trace Metcalfe's BlogIf you arrived here from Trace's page then you are in the right place.

I decided to share my layout I made with the Couture Creations 3 in 1 sets
After making my cards, I wanted to use all the gorgeous stamps folders and die cuts to make a layout. This has elements from 5 of the 6 sets!!

I started my layout by sewing in black around the border of my page. I chose papers from the Tim Holtz Retro Grunge Paper Stash. I did some background stamping in Jet Black Archival Ink using the script stamp and butterfly stamp from the Couture Creations 3 in 1 Ornate Frame set randomly around the page. I didn't place my stamp on a block but just moved it around and used sections of it to stamp the pattern.

My next layer I embossed more Tim Holtz Retro Grunge paper with the fun Couture Creations 3 in 1 Party Time set embossing folder...I love its bubbly look! To highlight the raised areas, I used Creative Expressions Enchanted Gold Gilding Wax. I added more black stitching around this layer of paper and added it to the center of my layout.

Next I gave a new product for me a try: Cosmic Shimmer Heat Bondable Angel Fibres. I simply made a layer of the fibres, sandwiched them between greaseproof paper and ironed them together, fusing them into a fun shimmery organic looking layer to use on my layout!

I used dies from several of the 3 in 1 sets: a butterfly from Ornate Frame, a butterfly from Butterfly Notes and the great banners from Party Time. Again all of these are cut out from my Tim Holtz paper. I added the fun banner shapes to a bit of twine and placed them on my layout.

I also made some flowers with the medallion die from Floral Wreath, adding Clear Sparkles into the center.

With the flower cluster I added a gorgeous Creative Expressions tan Zipper Rose and some Metal Leaf Embellishments.

To finish off the layout I added one of the Creative Expressions Fancy Key Charms and stamped a little banner with the Joy in Life sentiment from the 3 in 1 Pattern Quilt set.
