Here is my take on the down by the sea project, a mermaid themed tag!! Not exactly BY the sea, more like IN the sea, but sea-themed none the less!!

I started the tag with Pine Needle Distress ink and inked the whole tag with it! I then took out my circles mask from the April kit I bought and used the Gel Medium from the kit to make some resistant circle patterns. I then added Chipped Sapphire Distress Ink randomly in different places and over the masked gel circles to bring out the pattern. I also misted the whole tag with water, I just love the effect you get with distress ink when it reacts to the water. I hope this gives the effect of really being underwater, there is a lot of texture there!

I used black Archival Ink to stamp the gorgeous mermaid, starfish and seashells and the great Van Morrison quote!! I filled the glass vial from the same April kit with some gorgeous pearls and used that to accent my tag. To finish the tag off I chose some fun fibers to match.

I hope you like my project and thanks for visiting!! Make sure to head on over to Carrie's Blog Next!!

I love how you blended and misted colors for an underwater look. Using the circle mask and medium gel to make it look like bubbles underwater is incredible!
