A few more cards and a finished quilt!!

Here are a few more cards I've done in the last few weeks...

A card for my Yoga teacher friend...I used the negative of the die cuts to make this card, so have them to use again in another card! I put some patterned paper behind the cardstock...I am still learning my way!

Here are two birthday cards that I made using a font and typing in the number 8 twice and joining them together...I put the girls names into the patterned paper to personalize them....

Aine had her First Confession this week...I did a simple card for her and made the scallop pattern up myself in my die cut machine...learning how to weld shapes in the software!

I am waiting for some other supplies I ordered from the States soon so I can do some stamping, embossing and other fun cardmaking ideas I've been learning about... Can't wait!

Here are a few blocks that I've done for February and March for the Block Lotto:
String Hearts for February
Disappearing Four Patch for March...

I am having fun doing some different blocks each month, and I will have a chance to win some blocks each month...no luck my first two months, but will keep my fingers crossed for March, I like the simple but interesting blocks!

My friend's chemo quilt is done!! Need to get some nice Irish Barry's Tea and some crunchie bars to put in the box and then it will be ready to send.

Hope it makes it there safe, some of my January blocks from the block lotto haven't made it to their destinations yet and I'm not too happy about that!

I've started on some crazy complex socks for a friend of mine... They are called Hwaet socks...they have the middle English words for Beowulf on them!! Here is a photo of the socks the designer has done...will show mine after I've made a little more progress, just finished the first line of words! If you are interested the link to the pattern is here.

Doing much better this year at keeping this blog updated, I hope I can keep on doing it! I should be able to start putting some weight on my leg again next week, my six weeks of hopping are nearly done, woo hoo!! More soon...

Look like you're getting addicted to paper art!!! I tell you...it consumed us for a couple of years when the girls were younger! Love your experiments. You go girl.

Variety of blocks a month is just a great idea. I love the 4-patch in particular, perhaps it's the size thingy...small is good.

The chemo blanket for your friend turns out gorgeous. Your friend will feel your love in every stitch. Too Sweet.

The sock...oh mine...so geeky, gorgeous. I can't wait to see yours. Look forward to your next update, Cathi :D

Lots of hugs and loves from ours to yours!

this is looking great!! you inspire me to keep up with my blog. And, yes, my friend and I did get to the West coast of Ireland during our visit. In fact, we were on allll coasts!! We started in Dun Longhaire and ended up near there after touring the entire island! I love your little island!!! Will return one day.

Lovely blog, that quilt is gorgeous. Your cards are great but ..... you do know you've started on a no-turning-back road with the cardmaking? LOL too late now! Great cards. Ger x.

Hi Cathi,
Thanks for the comment on my blog,
Wow! those socks! very impressive project to take on, I hope they are behiving themselves and coming along well.
Thanks very much for the wool winder also, I had a look at it and got my tweezers and I picked out some wool which had gotten wrapped around the cogs and it worked fine.
I was lucky enough to be given another ball winder in a bag of stuff with an unwanted knitting machine, so I am now the blushing owner of 2 wool winders, different styles. I must say your winder is the more sophisticated model!
Well done on getting the quilt finished for your friend in US, great work there. You know how much in awe I am of your quilting! Crunchies and Barry's tea sound like a perfect addition.
I'm not sure if I want to put my email address in my blog profile, not sure if I want that level of disclosure yet, if you know what I mean. I'm happy enough for people to leave comments on the blog for now. I've no problem with you knowing my email address, i'm just not keen on having it available to all and sundry. Hope you see what I mean.
take care over there in Ballina!

Thankyou for your comments on my blog, I'm a huge fan of Kristina's and Jennifer's too, and check their blogs most days! There are some amazingly talented Irish bloggers too and I get loads of inspiration from them. Congrats on winning some goodies from Jennifer! I'll be very interested to hear what she sends!

As for stash ... ah, God be with the days when my stash fitted in one box and I told everyone I was saving a fortune making my own cards. Innocent times LOL! I buy some stuff here in Ireland - Cardz n Scrapz are good, there's An Siopa Bui and the Art and Hobby shops (mostly Papermania) but I do like to buy from Simon Says Stamp because they have a great range, deliver to Ireland in 4-5 days for $13, and the exchange rate makes buying from them much cheaper. Lucky you owning a Silhouette! Always great to hook up with an Irish papercrafter. Ger x.

I honestly think you have only kept up on the blog because you can't get around too well right now. But I love it. And those socks are absolutely awesome. I love Beowulf and I think I need to make Hwaet socks!
