Skater Boys: A Layout for Meg's Garden

I am here today with  another project using the gorgeous The Sherlock Book Kit by Watson by Meg's Garden!!  I decided to make a layout with mine using the book pages and amazing ephemera provided in the kit!

For the background 12 x 12 inch page I used the The Gentlemen Collection: Gentleman paper. To me, in the Sherlock Book Kit there was a lot of masculine ephemera, many using new inventions for the turn of the century and one even looking like a globe...which reminded me of the Worlds Fair... I tucked that into the layout here and decided to use this amazing photo I have in my family collection of my Great Great Uncle Leo at the St. Louis World's Fair in the early 20th Century. Roller skating was being demonstrated there as a possible entry into the Olympics. Leo and his buddies looks so cool posed here!!

Above you can see several layers of ephemera cut out and layered under my photo. I have also made some gorgeous flowers using the Bitty Blossoms die I have in my stash and papers from the book kit.

I have twirled and tucked in the gorgeous Brown Dodo Vine Wire for some cool detail and added a Vintage Trinket: Cog.

I added a fun ticket cut out from the kit, and here you can see the masking misting and stamping I have added to my background. I thought the title "Skater Boys" worked well for this!!

Tucked in behind the photo cluster I have one of the tag cut outs from the kit and have added some journalling information. I attached the Filigree Oval Vintage Trinket to the tag to help pull it out and to add some gorgeous detail to the layout.

I had a great time putting this together and I hope that you enjoyed it!!

XO - Having fun with the November C'est Magnifique Kit!

A lot of the die cuts provided in the November kit and add ons lended themselves toward some fun layouts. I took several tags, tickets and die cuts and added them to my embellishment cluster here, along with gorgeous flowers from the Flower Add On (sold out). I used the Mint gesso to add some subtle coloring.  Again I used the Main KitEmbellishment Add On, Flower Add On (sold out) and Magnifique Mixed Media Kits for my layout.

From my stash: Molding Paste, Mask, Stamp, Ink.

In this close up above you can see some great die cuts, gorgeous flowers and lots of masking, stamping and painting with the mint gesson. I added the metal butterfly from the Prima Epiphany Ephemera pack found in the Main Kit.

The bakers twine came in the ephemera pack and I added it as fun bows to some tags also found in the Magnifique Mixed Media Kits

The November Time after Time kit and add ons are full of versatile embellishments, flowers, and media, don't forget to get yourse while you can!!

Wintry Day: A Layout for La-La Land Crafts

This week at La-La Land Crafts the theme is It's Cold Outside.

This week I did a fun watercolor background technique for my layout and chose three of my La-La Land Crafts dies to showcase! Just a few embellishments added to this layout to make it pop.

I chose a gorgeous photo I took of our village during one of our rare snow falls. I love the blue of the boat popping out of the photo and used that to help make my background color choice. I added some beautiful flowers from my stash and here you can see the Cherry Blossom Branch Die  I used to add to my flower cluster.

The gorgeous blue watercolor background makes a perfect backdrop for the Snowflake Banner die. I cut apart all the gorgeous snowflakes from the banner and spread them across the layout.

Behind the photo I used the Lattice Border die to add a design element. I also added some white twine from my stash around the photo. I really had fun experimenting with new techniques and streamlined embellishments. I love how this turned out!

Happiness is the Sunshine of the Soul: November Kit for C'est Magnfique!

I'd love to share with you another layout using the gorgeous November C'est Magnifique kit!!My first layout here I had to use the fun clock hands included in the Magnifique Mixed Media Kit. I chose a paper that also had the clock motif to continue the theme.  I chose a fun photo of my daughter and made the layout fun and playful. For the masking I used the stencil in the Mixed Media kit and the gorgeous Finnabair Art Sugar, it is hard to capture the shimmer on a photo!  I used the Main KitEmbellishment Add On, Flower Add On (sold out) and Magnifique Mixed Media Kits to make my layout.
From my stash: Molding Paste, Ink.

A few details: I used the mask, molding paste and the Finnabair Art Sugar from the Magnifique Mixed Media Kit to make my shimmery fleur de lis. I loaded the page with flowers and fun butterflies from the Embellishment Add On and Flower Add On (sold out).

Just love the clock hands for this layout, they fit in perfectly with the clock motif on the paper... I added some pearl dots using the Buttercup Liquid Pearl included in the Magnifique Mixed Media Kit

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Recycling/Repurposing Challenge for Sugar Creek Hollow

This week our challenge at Sugar Creek Hollow is Recycling/Repurposing! Make a vintage project which must have recycled or repurposed items.

This card is full of recycled and repurposed items! The corrugated board is from a box that contained some scrappy happy mail. I peeled off the top layer to show the corrugated texture... The twine was part of the packaging on a gift I received. The fun silber leaves are actually part of a deconstructed bracelet! I had a great time putting this together and finding fun recycled items to use.

I hope you will come play in this fun challenge this week!!!

Dream Layout for Riddersholm Design

I am so delighted to be sharing my first official project for Riddersholm Designs!! I have used the gorgeous new Vintage Venture collection to create my layout and some other beautiful pieces from the Riddersholm Shop.

The beautiful photo I have used here is the wedding photo of my great grandmother and grandfather, Helen and Frank Furlong. I love having a great collection of vintage family photographs to use for my scrapbooking. Here you can see some vintage images I have used from the Vintage Venture Cutout Sheet. You can also see the white Riddersholm Ink It flowers in my floral cluster. I kept them white to fit in with the wedding gown coloring!

In the photo above you can see the gorgeous Wycinaka chipboard that I have inked with Walnut Stain Distress Ink and added a little bit of Buttercup Liquid Pearls.

I have used many of my inks mists stamps and masks to build up a background for my layout.

I just love using the cut out images, have added the gorgeous owl and butterfly here, as well as some flowers from my stash.

I'd love to enter this in the Lindy's Stamp Gang November Challenge!!

Nov color challenge

I have used the gorgeous Tibetan Poppy Teal, splashes of Red Hot Poker Orange, and Smokey Sapphire Moonshadow Mist. I just love the color combinations for this one!

Thank you so much for taking the time to visit!!

Wedding Day: Getting Krafty challenge at La-La Land Crafts

This week at La-La Land Crafts the theme is Getting KraftyI don't often use solid paper for backgrounds on my layouts, but I really enjoyed making this Kraft layout! Of course I used lots of La-La Land Crafts dies too

Here you can see the Heart Doily Border Die  I tucked in under the photo, I just love how gorgeous it is. I added several gorgeous Prima flowers to the layout, tucking in a flower using the Lotus Die, and some leaves from the Creepy Vine Dies.

I added some gorgeous Heart Doily Die, perfect for a wedding photo, adding in the Fancy Butterfly Die as an accent!  I stamped a bit of my favorite script stamp in the background and added a bit of white twine.

I really like the way this one turned out and am so pleased you took the time to stop by and have a look! I really appreciate it!!
