Aisling's Special Day - Molossi May DT Layout

Here is my first layout for the Molossi Chipboard Design Team! I just fell in love with this fence and hanging sign I received! I treated the chipboard with a coat of gesso first then Walnut Stain Distress Ink and Brilliance Rocket Red Gold inks for an antiqued shabby look.

I used the beautiful Kaisercraft These Days papers that I have been hoarding in my stash for far too long, and finally cut into them making loads of banners as a matting for my photo. I inked the edge of all the papers  with my Walnut Stain Distress Ink, placed my photo in the center of the banners and used some of the These Days stickers to layer. I added my fence chipboard in two pieces around the photo and the hanging sign above the photo which has the title of the layout.

Finally, I added some Kaisercraft blooms and some coordinating seam binding as well as some Martha Stewart leaf punches to finish off the page.

I really enjoyed doing my first layout for Molossi. I only received my DT packet yesterday but wanted to get started right away! I am looking forward to seeing what next month brings, these pieces are so intricate and so strong. I've often had pieces this intricate fall apart when removing them from their background, but these chipboard pieces are very sturdy as well as intricate, I am in LOVE!

I used the beautiful Kaisercraft May Saturday Sketch #2 for my layout:

Too Sweet

And a bit bittersweet...as this is the last recipe challenge, Paper Mixing Bowl will be closing after this month. Sarah, you gave me my foot in the door last July with my first ever DT. I will miss designing with your recipes and with the great group of ladies you chose for your team!

Here is the layout I did for the challenge:

I used the blue, purple and rose colors of the main ingredients. For my utensils I used pearls in the flowers, washi tape, faux stitching, hearts, lots of mixed media "mess" and some stamping (my title).

I do hope you will consider "cooking" with us for our last recipe! Come join us!!

Frosted Designs Challenge - Monday Reveal - Black, White and 1 Color

Come join us for another challenge at Frosted Designs!! We would like to see your cards, layouts and off the page projects using only 3 colors.... black, white, and one other color of your choice! Sound like fun?!

I chose turquoise/aqua blue for my other color, and raided my Kaisercraft stash for this, with papers from their Madame Boutique and Periwinkle collections and die cuts and stickers from their Secret Admirer line. Some paper tearing, punching, Prima flowers and twine and a gorgeous doily die cut from Couture Creations as the photo frame help make this layout...

Look what you could win for playing along....

The prize this week is:

10 Yards of May Arts burlap string (red and Natural) 2 wooden veneers (winners choice)
and 2 Washi tapes and again lucky winner, you'll get to choose that too!

Teach. Inspire.

I took a class with Finnabair last year and had a great time and learned so much! I used her papers and flowers to make this and used the My Creative Sketches sketch. The papers are from the March Scraps of Darkness kit and the banner from the new Scraps of Elegance kit.

Here is the great sketch I used!

There is Comfort in the Words of a Good Book (and another exciting announcement!!)

I did this flowerless (shocking I know!!) layout for the Blue Fern sketch challenge. I used Blue Fern chipboard and more of my Scraps of Elegance kit...

Here is the gorgeous sketch:

I also managed to get a card done with the kit as well...believe it or not I actually have more paper left and some embellies too...I think this is the most layouts I have done with one kit and I will try to do a few more cards with the smaller scraps :)

And my exciting announcement for today....I've been invited to join another design team, The Paper Temptress!!! They specialize in specialty cardstocks and will work wonderfully with my embossing folders from Couture Creations. I can't wait to work with them, thanks Patricia for the opportunity and the invitation!
