Viewer's Choice!!!!
Last Saturday Bend had an outdoor quilt show and Kristen suggested that I enter my Dear Jane again. It is a smaller show but the quilts looked great hanging out in the park.
This show actually has a Viewer's Choice award, where the Sisters show didn't...and I WON!! I've never won anything for my quilting ever, so I am so excited!
I haven't been great at keeping up my blog. No real excuse except summer laziness and lots of activities. I helped clean out the house and did a yard sale for my folks last week. Mom is holding up okay with her radiation but she is having digestive issues with it as well, doc says it is because she has a large field for her radiation due to the lymph nodes that were involved. Not fun.
I have been slowly working on knitting projects, and have even started tracing my angel blocks, but they are all packed up now. Tomorrow we leave on an Oregonian road trip. Aine has been obsessed with crystals, rocks and fossils this summer, getting out books from the library and collecting stones. We are heading to the John Day Fossil Beds, then on to family visits in Pendleton and Portland.
Next Friday we are back in Ireland and none too soon, the kids and I are ready to go home, though I will miss it here too!! I might not be back again till Ireland. Will try to get going on some good stuff when I get home...

Stunning Quilt! You are a very deserving winner.
Take Care
Janelle ;-)
Aine sounds like me at that age. I wanted to become a geologist when I was around 6. My mom knew that I was hopelessly weird. LOL. No ballerina or princess dreams for this gal.
BIG HUGE congratulations on your quilt show win. It looks so gorgeous there with the sunlight and grass. Makes me think we should hang our treasured art objects outdoors on a regular basis.
Please give your mom my best. Sent a card a little bit ago which hopefully made it. I hope her digestive issues ease off a bit very soon.
Enjoy your last days "home" with your family. Take care, and have a very uneventful trip back to Ireland!!
congrats, and if I was there I would have voted for your quilt too. I am still in awe every time I look at your quilt.
great job.

Congrats, Cathi on the win--well done, and so well deserved, for your DJ is a stunner! So nice you popped in for and end of summer update...enjoy your time there in OR until you're home this side of the pond again. Happy Days ((HUGS))
My prayers are with your mother, I pray that she does better. I know this must be hard on all of you.
Congrats on your quilt! It really does deserve to win! It is beautiful!!!! Such an inspiration to see someone finishe theirs.
Have a safe and wonderful trip back to Ireland.

Congratulations!!
I'm not at all surprised your quilt won the Viewer's Choice award. It's a gorgeous piece of work. It must be a tremendous uplift for you to have others admire your handiwork so much. Great!
My husband is originally from Klamath Falls, OR and has visited the John Day fossil beds. It's no wonder Aine is interested in all the interesting things you can find just laying around on the ground there!
I'm glad your mom is tolerating her treatment reasonably well and that she's been able to enjoy you and the girls being there.
You deserved the Viewer's Choice. If I'd been there, I'd have voted for it too. Wonderful job.
Congratulations, Cathi, on winning Viewer's Choice at the quilt show in Bend! Your quilt is fabulous and very deserving of the honor.
Your quilt would be my choice, that's for sure. It's so awesome. Congratulations on the award!
Wow, congratulations on getting a Viewer's Choice award!! That's fabulous.
Congratulations Cathi! Of course, I would expect nothing less from such a beauty!!!
Definitely well deserved! Good on you!! Travel safe!! And love to your Mom!
Congratulations, it's beautiful.
Congratulations. I would have voted for it had I been there. I hope you have a great time on your tour and a safe trip back home.
Congratulations on the win! your quilt is beautiful.
Congratulations Cathi - well deserved!
Congratulations! Your quilt is absolutely beautiful, it's no wonder it won. I hope you have a safe and smooth journey home!
Seeing your DJ hanging there in the breeze makes me all inspired to actually start mine! Congrat's on your win.
You deserve a prize for all the hours spent on the dear jane. Congratulations!
Your quilt is absolutely stunning. I am a fellow DJ'er so I know the work you put in.
Love your color choices and your piece work is wonderful. The triangles are just great and they are difficult to piece. The border scallops are very nicely done as they lay flat, a difficult accomplishment. I know you are proud of your DJ quit.
Congrat's. on the finish of your quilt and on your win. I bet it will not be the only win.
Have a safe trip home and my prayers are with your mother.

OMGosh! That's a beautiful Dear Jane quilt!
Big sigh...I only have 10 blocks done on mine, but I also haven't worked on it in 2 years. :(
Congratulations! I just can't wait to see this quilt!
I know I'm a bit late, but Congratulations!!!!
Congratulations! This quilt certainly deserves lots and lots of awards!!
Safe travelling home.
Way to go! Some of my favorite shows have been the smaller ones. I am really happy you won Viewer's Choice! Sounds like you are having a busy summer!
Cheers!

Found your blog search to find what a Dear Jane quilt looks like. Have read your Blog and love it!
I am Irish but live here in the US, just outside San Francisco, for 9 years. I just started quilting a few months ago and loving it! working on four projects right now so I think I have truly caught the bug.
I grew up in Cork and all my family live there, miss them lots especially my three nieces who are from 6 - 1 year of age.
Hope you had a safe trip back and will keep you Mom in my prayers.

Congratulations on the award! You deserve it with that beautiful quilt. I still can't get over your Featherweight. I have kept my eye on white ones like yours, and in such great cosmetic condition, they can run to $400 or more.

Hi! Wow- that is an amazing quilt. I am so glad you got to share it with so many people and they got to tell you how amazing it is.
I wish I had been able to come say hello and meet you in person. Alas, I have not even been to the ocean this summer.
Have a lovely visit to Portland and safe travel home.
And I completely understand the Post Diet... I just posted for the first time since July 3rd. Eek!
Congrats Cathi! I love your dear jane! Glad to see you made it back across the pond safely!
