Christmas Cosy - Enjoy Christmas!

November is here and it is getting colder and the days are getting shorter! Christmas is already on my mind! I decided that I needed to use the gorgeous new Christmas Cosy collection from Riddersholm Designs!!

For my base page I chose the beautiful Tainted paper from the Christmas Cosy collection.  

The image and title I got from the Cosy Cutout page. I absolutely love this dreamy vintage image and have wrapped it up with twine and added the tag title to it, reminiscent of a present all tied up for Christmas!  I have tucked in osome gorgeous Petaloo berries leaves and flowers and added the gorgeous Winter Branch pine branch die from La-La Land Crafts in my clusters as well.

I have used a gorgeous Wycinaka snowflake chipboard. I love the little deer design, it matches perfectly with the paper design!!... You can also see here the glitter glass I have used on the background along with the splashes of mist and masked snowflakes!  A very wintry layout!

It has been ages since I have entered a challenge and I would love to enter this into the Scrap Around the World November challenge. Here is their gorgeous moodboard:

I used the gorgeous blues and reds and the Christmas theme from the moodboard. It IS the most wonderful time of the year and I hope you "Enjoy Christmas!!"

Enjoy the Journey: A Layout Just for Fun!!

I don't always take the time to do projects for fun these days, as I keep myself pretty busy, but I really wanted to use some of my Fabscraps papers and newly purchase bag of shells and do a beachy themed layout! I also wanted to play along with Scrap Around the World and the Lindy's Stamp Gang Color Challenge this month!!

  

Somehow my pink flowers are more peach colored in the photos, but I hope you can see the other colors here!! Lots of Lindy's Golden Dubloons Moonshadow Mists on the background. I inked the chipboard with 

then covered parts in gesso and embossed with Orbit Olive Gold Embossing Powder.

I found that cool silver earring that looks like a sand dollar at a local charity shop and put the pair to use in my layout. I was lucky enough to go to CHA in Los Angeles this month and I snagged a bag of seashells at the nearby Michaels, my daughters were tired of me stealing their shells for my cards and layouts!

In this cluster here I used lots of shells Prima flowers, Petaloo butterfly and a Maya Road wood doily. The kraft tags holds some journaling, I spotted those in a local shop and asked for a few! There is some Prima web type trim that is in the flower that I happened to win a roll of and it matches perfectly, used that to give some texture to the layout...

I really love this layout it is going up in my scraproom to remind me of summer on these cold dreary days!!

Simply Lovely - My First DT Layout for Scrap Africa!!

I am so excited to be sharing my layout for my first challenge on the DT of Scrap Africa!! This weeks challenge is a "RESIST" challenge! I did two different types of resist techniques on this layout!

On my gorgeous Molossi chipboard butterfly I heat embossed my beautiful Visible Image Bronte Border script stamp...I just love that stamp, such a great addition to any layout and it looks gorgeous here on the butterfly. I took my Peacock Feather and Walnut Stain Distress Inks and inked the background of the butterfly and just love how it turned out!

The second resist I tried was molding paste/gesso resist. I used my checkerboard stencil from Prima to add molding paste to the layout, then sprayed Moonshadow spray over it and wiped the paste clean again so it  stood out against the sprayed background...I added this in several places around the layout.

I used my gorgeous October kit from C'est Magnifique to make this layout, mixing the 7 Dots and Tilda papers included and the chalkboard frames and gorgeous flowers... I added some chicken wire chipboard pieces and nests of black thread to the layout as a finishing touch.

I would love to enter this into the Scrap Around the World challenge. I used the colors (pinks and blues!) and doilies (I used a doily mask on the background) and the sketch: 

I would also love to enter this in the checkerboard challenge at Scrapki Wyzwaniowo.

Cousins and Friends - GDT for Scrap Africa Washi and Twine Challenge!

I am so excited to be guest designing for Scrap Africa for the Washi Tape and Twine challenge today!!

For this layout I used some gorgeous Paper Temptress Silver Lustre papers and gorgeous lace and flowers from Tresors de Luxe. The base of my layout is the gorgeous 12x12 Laser Silver Lustre paper. This paper is amazing for taking distress inks...my frame and butterfly were inked up but the columns pattern is nearly 3D with the effect it has and the silver columns seem to float above the inked surfaces, amazing!!  I then layered many many strips of tape as a background, swirling some white button twine around the background for movement...I added my inked frame behind my photo lifted up on foam tape.

You can see the Rustic Shabby Chic Flower Embellishment (FL-028) and Embroidered Heart Lace Trim (LA-080) above in the close up. These come from Tresors de Luxe. There is an amazing selection of flowers and trims there, have a look!!

I finished off the layout with some Martha Stewart Monarch Punch Butterflies and a bit of  harlequin patterned background stamping.

I used the gorgeous sketch and monochromatic color theme from Scrap Around the World for this layout.

Irish American Girl

I decided to play along with the Prima PPP for July and the Scrap Around the World challenge together!!! Here are the colors for the Prima challenge:

My color theme came from the Prima challenge, but I took the wooden molding detail and added resin pieces that echoed that to my layout and the key which is a part of my flower cluster.

The photo is my oldest when she was about 8 months old, holding a little American flag my mom sent, and a patriotic outfit a friend sent over! Being an American abroad, I don't do much for the 4th but we like to mark the day a little in some way!!

I would also love to enter this into the Lindy's Stamp Gang Color Challenge. I used Autumn Maple Crimson, Tibetan Poppy Teal and Afternoon Delight Denim Starburst Sprays.
