You're a Classic - "Things with Wheels" Challenge at Sugar Creek Hollow
We have a new challenge today from Sugar Creek Hollow - 'Things with Wheels'.
Our sponsor for this challenge is Doodle Pantry who will be sponsoring a random draw prize of 3 images!
I just love this bicycle image and sentiment they gave me to work with! I used my distress inks to color it in and did a bit of stamping as well with the background. I used my Couture Creations Oval Nesting Dies and Scallop Oval Nesting Dies and the Jasmine Dream die to add the leafy details. A few flowers from my stash, a handmade stickpin and some twine finish it off, along with some Couture Creations Self Adhesive Pearls!

You Are My Wild Irish Rose
I just love when many of my design team products work so perfectly together!! I am here to share this layout today using gorgeous Couture Creations dies, embossing folders and adhesive gemstones, stunning Paper Temptress papers and beautiful Tresors de Luxe laces and flowers.
molding paste background just amazingly! I then added a gorgeous piece of Ivory Venice Lace (LA-020) from Tresors de Luxe to start building my layout.
I used some Paper Temptress Kiwi vellum and the largest die from the Victorian Square Nesting Die set to make two embossed die cuts to layer with my daughter's photo. I also used some leftover vellum to cut out the Endless Dream Jasmine Dream die and Diary Tag die to add extra details to my layout.
I layered the two Victorian Square nesting die cut outs under the photo and attached them to the layout with Couture Creations double sided tape.
Next, I cut out several diecuts from the Endless Dreams Fresh Flower die and the Endless Dreams Diary Tag die, which I put the title to my layout inside and layered the kiwi vellum die cut on top, as well as Couture Creations Adhesive Gems in Vintage Gold.
I finished off the layout by adding the gorgeous Rustic Shabby Chic Flower Cluster with Wooden Beads (FL-029) and attaching my title and leafy flourish.
Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by today!!

Boho Chic Flowers: My 2nd Round Submission for May Arts
I knew I wanted to make another flower for my May Arts Second Round project, but I wanted to show how versatile it is!! Here is my gorgeous model Aine showing you the flower as a hair clip and a pin, but I have put it to use in lots of different ways: wearable art, gift packaging, as a card motif, on a scrapbook layout, on a bag and even on some shoes!! Have a look at some of the finished projects after the tute!
To make this flower I used:
Step 1:
Take a 12 inch length of the Aqua Natural Burlap/Stripe Edge/Wired ribbon and with needle and thread use a running stitch to gather the ribbon together to form a circle...stitch the ends of the ribbons together.
Step 2:
As I will be using the burlap to make a patchwork pillow and a tote, I chose the 4 inch Wired Natural Burlap Ribbon they had. To make the burlap circle for the flowers, cut a 6 inch length and then cut it so that you have 2 1.5 inch with pieces from it...this will make the burlap detail for 2 flowers!
Since the burlap is wired on the edge I found the easiest way to make a circular layer of burlap was to hand gather it bending the wire to form the circle.
When you are done you can use needle and thread or hot glue to tack together the two layers you have made so far.
Step 3:
Next take a 6 inch piece of your Aqua Twill Chevron Stripes 1.5 inch ribbon. Cut this in half and use one of the pieces to make your next gathered circular ruffle for the flower.
Take a 6 inch piece of your 3/8 inch Cream Crochet Trim next and gather this into a circle as well, and we are done with the sewing for this flower!
Layer the chevron and the crochet ruffles on the flower and sew or glue into place.
Step 5:
Nearly there! I took a six inch piece of Wired Pearl Trim and twisted it together into a circle, I layered this on top of the flower and glued it into place.
Step 6:
As a final touch I add one tiny pearl from the wire into the center of the lace and add two Faux Suede Leaves in Natural.
Voila! You are done!! One fun, Boho Chic Flower finished!!!
Just to show the versatility of this flower, here I have it as a hair clip, on a hat, on a jacket and even on some shoes!!
WEARABLE ART
Attach a hair clip to the back of your flower and it makes a beautiful hair accessory!
Add a pin and it makes a cute decorations for a hat and a jacket!!
HOME DECOR
Here is a quick explanation on my Patchwork Burlap Pillow!! I cut the 4 inch wired burlap ribbon into 4 inch squares.
I sewed the squares together in a nine patch pattern (my background as a quilter showing through here!).
I added muslin as a backing for stability and then stuffed. I finished the pillow off with a boho chic flower, a cute home decor accent!
GIFT PACKAGING
These flowers add a special touch to gifts and packaging... Here I made the gift of a hair clip part of the packaging, using the Aqua Twill Chevron Stripes 1.5 inch ribbon to wrap the gift.
Here I made a card, and made the hair clip part of the design:
Here is the card without the hair clip attached, still pretty even without the clip!!
SCRAPBOOKING
And of course, last but not least, as I love to do layouts, I used the ribbons that were part of the flower to create a special layout as well!! I used leftover bits of 4 inch Wired Natural Burlap Ribbon from creating the flowers, pillow and tote to make a background for the photo, I pleated the gorgeous Aqua Natural Burlap/Stripe Edge/Wired ribbon to make a lovely textured effect below the photo and layered the 3/8 inch Cream Crochet Trim over top of it. Finally, I took some of the Aqua Twill Chevron Stripes 1.5 inch ribbon and made little banners with it and tucked them under my flower. I used beautiful UHK papers and tags, a Blue Fern heart chipboard and Prima letters to finish off the layout.
As you can see there are so many ways you can use your ribbon flowers to embellish
wearable art, packaging, home decor and for cardmaking and scrapbooking.
I hope you enjoyed my ideas!!

Ribbon, Twine or Washi Challenge - Frosted Designs DT Reveal

For this challenge I decided to do a card. You need to use at least two of the three ingredients for this challenge. I chose twine and washi tape. I used my usual vintage images, added a bit of lace and some punched butterflies as well as the yummy ledger washi tape and the gorgeous flower cluster tied up in twine.
The daisy lace I used was cut away from this beautiful piece from Tresors de Luxe Etsy shop: White Venice Lace Embroidered Guipure Floral Lace Trim (LA-074). Isn't it just beautiful!!

I used another gorgeous piece from Tresors de Luxe, the Rustic Shabby Chic Corsage Embellishment with Wooden Leaf (FL-018). I just love the wooden leaf, twine and raffia, stunning!
This week there is an amazing prize!
An online class with Donna Downey!!
Wow, wish I could win that one myself!!! Hope you come join us at Frosted Designs and be in with a chance to win that awesome prize!!!

Here is my take on the down by the sea project, a mermaid themed tag!! Not exactly BY the sea, more like IN the sea, but sea-themed none the less!!
I started the tag with Pine Needle Distress ink and inked the whole tag with it! I then took out my circles mask from the April kit I bought and used the Gel Medium from the kit to make some resistant circle patterns. I then added Chipped Sapphire Distress Ink randomly in different places and over the masked gel circles to bring out the pattern. I also misted the whole tag with water, I just love the effect you get with distress ink when it reacts to the water. I hope this gives the effect of really being underwater, there is a lot of texture there!
I used black Archival Ink to stamp the gorgeous mermaid, starfish and seashells and the great Van Morrison quote!! I filled the glass vial from the same April kit with some gorgeous pearls and used that to accent my tag. To finish the tag off I chose some fun fibers to match.
I hope you like my project and thanks for visiting!! Make sure to head on over to Carrie's Blog Next!!

Nature Walk
So excited to say this was on the Watch List for CSI!
I did this layout for the C'est Magnifique sketch using the gorgeous June kit. Here is the sketch:
I also did this for CSI Challenge #77:
My evidence: leaves, envelope, twine, pearls, wood, vintage botanical and circle tags!
My testimony: I put a story into an envelope and used the inspiration word Nature for my title. The story tells about another nature walk we took so many years ago and how much they have grown since, though we always find the walk and the treasures we find magical!!
