May Arts Design Team Call Submission

May Arts is having a design team call and it would be a dream come true for me to be a Ribbonista!! I love to use it on my layouts, cards and home decor/gift/wearable projects. I might just have a ribbon problem!!!

I decided to do my tutorial on a hair clip I made called my "Wild Irish Rose" clip, made for my own gorgeous little Irish rose, Aine (you pronounce it on-ya)!  Isn't she a beauty? And the hair clip is pretty nice too!!! As an American transplant here in Ireland, I have to say I love living here, especially on weeks like this one when the rain goes away for a while and the sun warms us all up!

The first thing you do is cut four sets of six inch strips of the green velvet ribbon and the lace.

Use your hot glue gun to secure each of these pairs into a loop.

Glue together all four sets of ribbon.

Stack the ribbon loops and use needle and thread to
sew through all the layers and tack them together.

Secure the ribbon flower onto a hair clip with hot glue.

Take a ribbon flower and cut the backing away.

Attach the gorgeous ribbon rose on top of the green velvet ribbon flower and you are done!!

I also did a sewing project this weekend for my girls teachers. I will fill them with cookies on the last day of school!! I used some six inch burlap ribbon I had in my stash and lined it with some muslin. I sewed up the sides of the ribbbon to make the bags, then I decorated the burlap bags with ribbon, some more masculine ones with a twine drawstring for the male teacher, and a frilly lacy ribbon one for the female teacher...I also used ribbon flower trim to make that one extra special!!

I use ribbon and twine constantly on layouts, I'd love to show you a collage of several of my favorites.

Here is a collage with cards I have done.

I also love to add a touch of ribbon and twine to home decor projects.

I would love to be considered for the May Arts Ribbon DT and hope that I can make it to the second round!
