Image Transfer Soap and Card for Creative Expressions

For a Worksheet on how you can make this project, click HERE!!

I thought I would try something I have been wanting to do with my stamps for a while, image transferred soaps!! Now these images won't last long when you actually start using your soaps, but they make a lovely presentation for a gift. I decided to make a card to go along with it. I went for a clean, organic, natural look with my colors and twine.

To get started you need your Winter Flowers stamp, tissue paper, a bar of soap and ink! I stamped the cyclamen stamp using Sepia Archival Ink onto the tissue paper.

Using water sprayed onto my craft mat, a paintbrush, and Worn Lipstick and Forest Moss Distress Inks, I colored in my image.

I fussy cut the stamped image on the tissue paper and placed it on the soap.

To transer the image into the soap I simply used my gloss gel medium to adhere it to the soap and then seal it over top of the paper. It sinks into the soap for a really lovely look.

Here are a few I made earlier!!!

To present one of the soaps as a gift I made a matchbox style box with paper from the Tim Holtz Retro Grunge Paper Stash and cut out an opening using my Spellbinders Labels Four dies. I also made a frame which I lifted up on foam adhesive from the same dies.

To finish off the box, I added a twine bow and button and stamped cyclamen on a banner label and attached to the box.

For my card I made to go along with my gift I took a vintage book page and ripped the edges, distressing it with Walnut Ink Distress Ink. I stamped the Cyclamen stamp in Sepia Archival Ink again and painted the colors with the same colors I used for the soap. I used my Picket Fence Distress Stain to add a bit of highlighting around the stamp. The paper I used for the base is the same as the paper used for the box, Tim Holtz Retro Grunge. I used the Thinking of You sentiment from the Winter Flowers set and finished the card off with a bit of twine. The card base is Creative Expressions White card stock cut 5 1/4" x 10 1/2" and scored at halfway mark and folded.
