Couture Creations Design Team Application Round 2

I am beyond excited to have made it to the second round of the Couture Creations Design Team application!! Can you hear me internet screaming from here?! Their products are amazing and it would be a dream come true to join the team!

They have asked us to do a project using their embossing folders and dies and I have ordered some, but they will not be dispatched in time to turn in this project, so they have kindly allowed those of us that didn't have them yet to use other manufacturers products.

Here is my layout I did:

To create this layout I first took my Fancy Pants Country Boutique "Ivy" paper and cut out the centre of the paper leaving about an inch all around. This is a tip I learned a while back and is great to really get the most out of your paper. I will use the center part of the paper later on the layout!

Next I cut Country Boutique "Defined" paper down to 10.5 inches, distressed the edges and gave it a machine sewn border...this is layered over the first sheet and glued down.

Next I embossed 3 - 4" x 5" pieces of my Core'dinations cream cardstock using my Sizzix Damask embossing folder. I used the embossed paper in three different ways.  I used one embossed panel to die cut with Tim Holtz's Hardware Findings die. The next piece I hand cut into several banner pieces to layer on my page. The last piece of embossed paper is used as it is, I just cut it down a bit to tuck into my cluster on my layout.

I used my emery board to sand down the cream colored cardstock and give the embossed card a subtle gorgeous frosted look.

After preparing my embossed pieces, I chose several die cuts and banner cuts from the Country Boutique collection, and edged them in Walnut Stain distress ink to make them pop on the background paper.

I chose three photos for the layout, and underneath I arranged my banners on the page, alternating embossed and printed banners.

Above the photos I layered a piece of the embossed card stock along with several die cuts from the Country Boutique collection. The alpha stickers for the title are also part of the collection.

I used my Heartfelt Creations Vintage Floret dies to make several flowers using coordinating Country Boutique papers and layered them with the Heartfelt Creations Bella Rose flourish.  I added the embossed keyhole and key to the cluster for extra interest.

I was able to use the centre of my first sheet that I cut out to make many of the flowers in my cluster. These dies come in several sizes and can make anything from rosebud to very large flowers. I did a mixture of sizes to create a balanced look.

To finish off the layout I added the hinge at the bottom left and accented it and the keyhole with pearls.
