Beauty

Yay, this layout was featured for the February C'est Magnifique challenge!!

Here is my entry to the February C'est Magnifique sketch, I swear I misted the gorgeous chipboard frame with purple and green mists then coated with some gesso randomly...it kinda just looks brown here, but it is lovely and shimmery in real life :) This layout is chock full of February kit goodness with a few small things from my stash. I even cut out the images from the Blue Fern packaging. I only managed this layout from the kit this month, but hope to use more of the papers soon!!

Here is the yummy sketch:

Cardabilities #69

Here is another card that I made and sold today at my cafe stand!  Most don't usually sell as fast, lol, just happened to have a friend that needed a new baby and wedding card today!

I used the great sketch at Cardabilities to make this one!

Vintage Wedding Card

I am pleased this was Top 3 at Red Carpet Studos!

I really enjoyed making this wedding card for my little card stand at a local cafe here in Ireland. But it never actually made it to the card stand, a friend bought it from me before it could get there!!!!

I would love to enter this at Sugar Creek Hollow and Red Carpet Studios challenges.

Couture Creations First Design Team Audition

I recently heard about Couture Creations and their gorgeous dies, embossing folders and so many more gorgeous items. It would be a dream to be able to work with them, so I would love to show some of my work using dies and embossing folders for their audition. Wish me luck, crossing my fingers!!!!

Christmas Flashback!

Excited to say that this layout got featured at Get Creative!

I hadn't played at CSI for a few weeks, and thought I'd try to do a layout or two for their challenges. Here is my layout for Case 59:

For my evidence I used frames, flourishes and texture paste. For my testimony I used a movie title "Santa Baby" and journaled about my own little Santa baby girl! I found this photo while looking through old files this week and had to do a layout with it. My February Scraps of Elegance kit valentines papers worked well for this!!!

I also would like to enter this in the snowflake challenge at Get Creative.

Enraptured

So excited to be featured on the Prima blog with this layout!

I did this layout for the Prima BAP and for my first Color Room challenge. I had a lot of fun with this, and got a lot inkier than I usually do! I like mixed media, but I love clean vintage/shabby too! I used lots of Lindy's Stamp Gang mists, molding paste, recycled corrugated cardboard (from crackers the girls like for their lunches!) and lots of Prima goodness! I love the resistant canvas flourishes and swirls that I misted.

The photo is of my girls listening intently to something up at their grandma's house, no doubt a story or one of their uncles playing some traditional music!! I love the expressions and Aisling sweet thumb in her mouth!

Here are the gorgeous Prima sketch and the color room color inspiration:

I Love You So Much My Sweetie!

Yay! This was featured on 13 Arts Love Challenge!

I really love the papers in the Scraps of Elegance February Kit and those fun Pink Paislee Secret Crush Paper Goods die cuts!! I love how this turned out.

I am entering this into the Zeus and Zoe love challenge, the Get Creative love challenge and the Scrap Africa Hearts challenge, there are little die cut hearts in the cluster in many places and they are all over the paper layers too :). I love my girls so much and just love this fun photo of my eldest on her first horse ride!

Generations of Love - February Reveal for Paper Mixing Bowl!

I loved this month's recipe!! Red Velvet Cake!! Lots of layers, that yummy red, brown and cream combo...

I decided to do mine with old family photos. I layered some book pages from my favorite vintage Jane Austen novel I read so much it fell apart. Luckily it happened after I started scrapping and I bought a new copy of the book and my eyes lit up with possibilities for using the yellowed book pages for flowers, layers, etc!!

For the utensils: I made my layer cake, lots of layers of doilies book pages, some burlap and 3 photos. For my frosting I used a ledger mask and molding paste to make a background behind my layers and then I inked it up with walnut stain distress ink. For my pairs I used two hearts two branch stamps and pairs of similar flowers...the photos are also full of pairs!! I have some postage stamp fussy cut from the Pion Papers that I was using, the From the Heart collection.  I put a few coffee stain rings on the layout with my inks, and lots of flowers and hearts. I used three photos.

For my directions: I used the inspiration word of love and titled the layout Generations of Love.

Hope you come join us over at the Paper Mixing Bowl and give this great recipe a try!!

I am also going to enter this into a few of this months challenges, Zeus and Zoe's Love Challenge, Get Creative's Love challenge, and Scrap for Help plastic challenge (I stamped on recycled report covers with Staz-on ink for the title and branches in the flower cluster)

My Gorgeous Girls

I did this layout with my Swirlydoos January kit, filled with Prima Firefly paper and journal spots and lots of goodies.  My girls when they were little, up our little hill we live on, with beautiful views of the Irish countryside behind them! I love the colors on these papers and I also used a Prima background splatter stamp and some gesso to built up the background a bit.  I used the clear plastic backing that the flowers came on and cut the words on it into little pieces and glued them on the photos and over the layout!

I would love to enter this in the Scrap for Help challenge for this month which is to use plastic on your layout...recycled plastic from my packaging, love that it can be reused!

Love Never Ages

This photo is of my great grandparents, gone long before I was born, but isn't it a great photo, they both look like such fun characters and still in love after all their years together! I journalled a bit about who they are in the tag behind the photo.

I stamped with my Timmy chicken wire stamp and part of the title, using some transparency film from a report cover. The papers are all Pion as well as the fussy cut butterflies. I used a gorgeous Prima vine, a Dusty Attic chipboard lamp that I embossed with Midnight Obsidian Pewter Lindy's embossing powder, and finally some Zva Creative bling. I had a great time doing the paper ruffles having recently been inspired by some of Gabbie Pollacco's layouts like this one here.

I would like to enter this in the OUAS sketch challenge, it was based on this gorgeous sketch:
I was looking back on my blog and I haven now been playing at OUAS every month for a year now. I love Nadia's sketches and think I have learned and grown from all the DT's inspirational layouts and fellow challenge players, such amazing work shown there each month!

I am also entering this in the Pion Valentine challenge and the Inkido black and white challenge, I have done several entries there, 3 actually, since they said you can and I do lots of black and white photos!!

A few cards for February!

I still am selling my cards at our local cafe here and sometimes I like to use card sketches to help with new cards! Here is one I did for Unscripted Sketches 196 challenge.

using this sketch:

I decided to use the Cardabilities sketch for this card:

I still need to do a few more cards to fill up my rack, so best get to it soon!!

I Love You

So excited to say this layout was featured at Sketchabilities!!

In our January Scraps of Elegance kit we received the 13 arts collection called Frosted Life. These papers have amazing textures and colors and I really enjoyed working with them. I decided to do this layout for the 13 arts love challenge and the Berry Bleu White Space challenge. I have also used a Sketchabilities sketch.

In the tags behind the photo I journal about my passion for my family and the place we are raising them here in Ireland. I feel lucky to be here and to have such a supportive husband and great (though trying!!) kids!! (Do they ever stop bickering, I hear not!!) I am doing this for Another Freaking Scrap Challenge!!
