Garden Beauty

I always love the Scraps of Elegance kits, Mel seems to do a perfect mix of paper every time. March's kit had the gorgeous Graphic 45 Secret Garden papers and Prima Divine, yum!! This is my take on the Scraps of Elegance sketch challenge for March, lots of fussy cutting of the G45 papers here and Renea's gorgeous butterflies!

Woodland Beauties

I wasn't sure if I was going to get time to work on this month's sketch, but I made time today to get out my March C'est Magnifique kit, my new punches DH brought back from the States, and some Couture Creations goodies to play! I used a beautiful butterfly from my friend Renea, and even remembered some microbeads I had in my stash since I started (a generous RAK from a friend) so tried them out...Got out the molding paste and stencils, gesso and mist... I really tried out a lot of things and had fun!

Here is the gorgeous sketch:

Not Just a Hobby It's a PASSION!

I decided to document my crafting space and my scrapping hobby for this one!

Part of my journaling is a bucket list of things I would love to accomplish in scrapbooking. I am happy to say the few modest ones I wrote in January I have already reached, I am so excited!! Time to dream a little more and see where my hobby and passion will take me :) I'd love to enter this in the Another Freakin Scrap Challenge Bucket List Challenge!

I would also love to enter this into the New Beginnings challenge at Zeus and Zoe. I have recently made my first manufacturer's design team and this year feel like I have a new beginning, new chapter in my scrapbooking life. I truly love doing it, so it is an honor to be chosen to work with a company that likes my work well enough to represent them. It is humbling and very exciting. I feel blessed. The other requirement they had for the challenge was the use of a stencil. I used my Prima flourish stencil and modeling paste, which I further inked and highlighted again with gesso. I have also used distress crackle paint on the chippie and would love to enter this in the Berry71Bleu You Color My World Challenge as well.

I also like to make a few cards with the leftovers from a layout, so I did this card for a little boy's first birthday. I was trying to figure out what to add to it, and a rosette always works better for a boy's card. I remembered there was a rosette challenge over at Quick Quotes, ending very soon, good thing I worked on this card tonight!!

BFFs

I love the Maja Designs paper in my February C'est Magnifique kit, but I hadn't touched them for weeks! I wanted to get one more layout done with the kit as the March kit is waiting and the April kit is on the way, wowza Leslie is organized!!  Here is my last layout for the moment with my February kit, a photo of my eldest daughter Aine (on the far right) and her two besties she's known since she was 4!! I used all kit ingredients and just added some modelling paste masking, some distress stain, and some twine and purple seam binding ribbon.

I used the Maja mood board to inspire me, focusing on friendship, the colors and lace and twine!

I used yet another sketch from Keeping the Best, they are lovely!

I would also love to enter this in the Red Carpet Studios RCS #28 - Layouts with Ribbon Challenge.

Frosted Designs Fabulous Friday Challenge DT Inspiration - Up Up and Away

Our new challenge at Frosted Designs is up and it's Up Up and Away!!! We want to see what you can do with the things you see in the sky.... hot air balloons, kites, planes, clouds, birds, butterflies...

I did a card this week and it is full of Tim Holtz goodies! I stamped the hot air balloon with one of Timmy's stamps, used many Tim Holtz gears and a token piece. The paper is Prima's Craftsman range.

The sponsor for this challenge is Creative ChaosShannon make the most beautiful handmade flowers.

The prize is an altered box filled with various handmade flowers to the value of $25.00! Sounds amazing, hope you will give the challenge a try!!

Wearin' o' the Green

OK, maybe I should have gotten this card finished yesterday, it is more appropriate for St. Patricks Day!!
I did this for the Prima PPP challenge, many many shades of green using Prima resins, chipboard, bling, stamps, canvas and flowers!

I'd also love to enter this in the Sandy's Craft Challenge, shades of green! And the Really Reasonable Ribbon challenge, flowers and ribbon...

Flowery Card

I did this card for the 13 Arts challenge, it had quite a few items that needed to be included: pink and aqua colors, yes, from Prima Divine papers; 5 handmade flowers, yes, from my Spellbinders Bitty Blossom die and my MFT rolled flower die; a photo of flower, yes, I doublechecked with Bellaidea and my girl with her hands and hair full of flowers was ok; and finally, sewing...I used my machine to stitch around the edge of the card. I would also love to enter this in the Pastel challenge at Docerela Stamps.

Remember This Moment - Kaisercraft Saturday Sketch #2

Last month's Scraps of Darkness kit had a lot of Kaisercraft Marigold in it, so I decided I needed to do another Kaisercraft sketch this month! I was lucky enough to win first place in their sketch challenge in January, and loved playing along!! I used this sketch, based on a layout by the talented Adriana Bolzon, and made it my own but used similar placements and the lacey borders in her original layout. I used Kaiser blooms and made some smaller flowers with some patterned paper. The wood flourish Remember this Moment was painted with Silks glaze.

While I had out my Marigold papers, I used some of the leftovers and stickers to make a few cards!

Sweet Memories - Playing with Prima Engraver Collection

I got the gorgeous Scraps of Darkness February kit, full of two paper lines I had been wanting: Prima Engraver and Kaisercraft Marigold... This week I have been playing with the Engraver line and kit goodies and came up with this using this month's sketch.

I'd love to enter this layout into the Paint challenge at Berry71bleu, I used Silks paint to alter the chipboard!

I also went crazy and made four cards to stock up my card rack at the local cafe!

I'd like to enter this key card for the Cardabilities challenge, I used this lovely sketch they provided:
I kept on a roll using lots of goodies from the SOD kit for the rest of these Engraver cards too!

 Thanks for visiting!!

Graphic 45 Card and Layout

This card was chosen as Top Pick at Sugar Creek Hollow!

I got the G45 Place in Time paper pad with my Swirlies kit in February and I decided I am going to try to do one card and one layout each month with the themed papers...they will go to SOMEONE I know for Christmas pressies! (Mom, it might be you....maybe... :)) Here is my card I did with the March papers.

I would love to enter the card in the Sugar Creek Hollow color challenge, I have really enjoyed playing with their challenges, as it is for the type of cards I like to do!

Here is the layout I did for the Swirlydoos sketch challenge, we are lucky to live in a great community and have a great little Paddy's Day parade each year...this is a photo of Aine with lots of friends out on the day!

March Paper Mixing Bowl Reveal - Ceol agus Craic - Music and Fun!!

Being that I am in Ireland and that we had an Irish themed recipe this month, I thought I would do a layout featuring a traditional Irish music session that my daughter participates in that takes place in our local pub! The title Ceol agus Craic means Music and Fun.

I kept to the colors of the recipe: green, brown and black. For my utensils, I tried to incorporate most of them, I used small photos, lace, a feather, did a green layout, added a gold charm and did some stamping! For my directions, I stamped my journalling!

Here is a closeup of my flower cluster, my friend Amy made the gorgeous brown flower for me!!

The recipes are a lot of fun! Hope you will join us this month over at Paper Mixing Bowl.

I would love to enter this in the Scrap for Help burlap challenge.

And now for something COMPLETELY different!!

I am so excited to have won the challenge at Keeping the Best
and get to Guest Design for them in April!!

As a member of Scraps of Darkness kit club, I admired DT member Drycha's 3rd Eye stamps she sells for a while! I finally got some last month and finally opened them up today! Her challenge this month is to do a VIVID aka bright project. Definitely not my norm but I do like to get out the inks and play sometimes!! I used many Dylusions sprays for this one. I just love the branch and castle window stamps in her collection and the honeycomb, and...so many more!! I am sure I will use them again, just maybe not in a bright layout so often!!

I used another sketch from Keeping the Best challenge blog, so would love to enter this in their challenge as well...here is their gorgeous sketch:
